Early Days
Before starting her professional career, Merritt Patterson was a competitive dancer and had been so since 11 years old. She eventually went on to appear in commercials and in 2006 won the Canadian Herbal Essences' Teen Model Search.
Patterson began her acting career in 2006, her first role being in an episode of Kyle XY as Ashleigh Redmond. This was followed by guest roles in the TV series Supernatural (2009), The Troop (2011) and in the TV films Iron Invader (2011), Radio Rebel (2012), etc. During that time she also portrayed minor roles in films The Hole (2009), and Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010), among others.
Finally, in 2013 Merritt Patterson was cast as the main role of Olivia Matheson in the TV series Ravenswood. She portrayed the character for a total of 10 episodes i.e. until 2014. This is considered her breakthrough role.

Since then Patterson has starred in numerous films including Rufus (2012), Wolves (2014), and Unbroken: Path to Redemption (2018).
Her work is more prominent in TV films. She has starred in Hallmark films A Royal Winter (2017), Wedding March 4 (2018), Christmas at the Palace (2018), and Forever in My Heart (2019). Moreover, her portrayal of Ophelia Pryce in The Royals (2015) and Olivia Brukner in The Art of More (2016) is also greatly recognized.
