Michael Ironside is an actor, producer, director, and screenwriter by profession, and Canadian by nationality. He is best known for starring in the films Terminator Salvation, and series V: The Series, Young Blades, and The Dropout.

Michael Ironside’s birth took place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on February 12, 1950. His mother Patricia June Ironside, who was a housewife, and his father Robert Walter Ironside, a street lighting technician and laborer named him Frederick Reginald Ironside.
His parents raised him alongside his four younger siblings- sisters Winnifred Ironside, and Beverly Ironside, and brothers William Ironside, and Robert Ironside.

Early Days
Ironside began his career as an actor in 1977. His debut role was in the film Outrageous! (1977). In the next ten years, he starred in the films Summer's Children (1979), Deadly Companion (1980), Surfacing (1981), Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone (1983), Terror in the Aisles (1984), Top Gun (1986), Nowhere to Hide (1987), to name a few. He was a series regular in the science fiction TV series V: The Series (1984-1985) as Ham Tyler.

With Michael Ironside’s career spanning more than four decades, he has appeared in dozens of TV series as well as starred in over a hundred films. He is mostly known for playing villains and tough guys.
