Who is Mitch Marner?
Mitch Marner is an ice hockey player by profession and Canadian by nationality. He is currently the right winger for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has been selected fourth overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Mitch Marner’s birth took place on May 5, 1997, in Markham, Ontario, Canada. He was born to his mother Bonnie Marner and his father Paul Marner. He is not the only child of his parents and has a sibling- an older brother named Christopher Marner.

For education, he attended a private school focused on athletics Hill Academy, and later transferred to Blyth Education. He did receive a scholarship from the University of Michigan but did not accept the offer.

Early Career
While a teenager, Mitch Marner played in the Durham Region and the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) with the Vaughan Kings. For the 2012-2013 season, he joined Don Mills Flyers of the GTHL scoring 86 points in 55 games.
Immediately he was invited to join the St. Michael's Buzzers, which he did and went on to win a championship. In the 2013 OHL Priority Selection, Mitch Marner was drafted by the London Knights.

With Toronto Maple Leafs
In July 2015 he signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Toronto Maple Leafs. He remained on the Toronto Maple Leafs roster for the 2016–17 season. In the 2017-2018 season, Mitch Marner led the Leafs in playoff scoring with nine points but was eliminated by the Boston Bruins.
In the 2018-2019 season, he played against Minnesota Wild, Dallas Stars, Tampa Bay Lightning, Montreal Canadiens, etc.
International games
Mitch Marner’s international debut was in 2014’s Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament where he won a gold medal. He has also played in the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championships, and the 2017 IIHF World Championship.

Marner has won Robertson Cup Champion, Stafford Smythe Memorial Trophy, Ed Chynoweth Trophy, and Wayne Gretzky 99 Award, and was named NHL Rookie of the Month in January 2017.

In September 2019 Forbes reported that he has signed a deal with Toronto Maple Leafs. According to the deal signed Marner's annual salary is at $10.893 million with a six-year extension worth $65.3 million.
