For higher education, Moses Ingram applied at Howard University. However, due to financial difficulty, she joined Baltimore City Community College which did not have a drama program, and graduated with an associate degree.
Encouraged by her advisors to not give up acting, Ingram competed in the regional National Society of Arts and Letters and was placed fourth at the national level in the year 2015.
Jonathan Majors, who was the winner of that competition, advised her to apply to Yale School of Drama. Moses Ingram was accepted into Yales in 2016 and graduated from the same in 2019 with a Master of Fine Arts degree.

While a college student at Yale, she performed in many stage plays. In her final year there, her performance in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night received rave reviews.
After college graduation, Moses Ingram was cast as Jolene in the TV mini-series The Queen's Gambit which earned her a nomination for Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie and is considered her breakthrough role. Prior to this, she had appeared in the 2018 short film Candace as Charlie.

Since then Ingram has starred in the films The Same Storm (2021), The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021), Ambulance (2022). Moreover, she has appeared in episodes of the TV mini-series Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022) as Inquisitor Reva / Third Sister and in Lady in the Lake as Cleo Sherwood.
