Who is Neil Connery?

Retired Scottish actor Neil Connery had a short stint in films. But the younger brother of Sean Connery left it all to run a business of his own.

Neil Connery was born on January 1, 193,8 in Edinburgh, Scotland to parents Euphemia McLean and Joseph Connery. His mother worked as a cleaning woman while his father was a factory worker and lorry driver. He had an older brother who is a famous actor, Sir Sean Connery. He is also an uncle to Jason Connery.

Growing up, his family was poor and the siblings worked hard at odd jobs to help their parent's financial status. Both were raised in Edinburgh and his education details are all vacant.

Neil Connery was a married man until his death in 2021. He had married his longtime girlfriend Elinor Connery in 1959. He and his wife have two daughters together- Martine Connery (born 1960) and Leone Connery (born 1964). He was also a grandfather.

Before fame

Before fame, Connery worked several odd jobs. For most of his life, he had been a plasterer, rather than an actor. Neil Connery worked some years of his life as an actor.

Films, Series

Neil Connery’s debut film was 1967’s O.K. Connery, which was inspired by James Bond movies and was paid $5,000. This was followed by roles in The Body Stealers (1969), Only When I Laugh (1980), Aces Go Places 3 (1984), Mystery Science Theater 3000 (1998).

But he deserted his acting career in Hollywood to run a plastering business in Glasgow, Scotland. But due to an accident in 1983, his career ended. He had fallen off a ladder which resulted in a broken wrist and fractured pelvis.

Connery has starred in movies and series alongside Lois Maxwell, Bernard Lee, Adolfo Celi, Daniela Bianchi, Patrick Allen, and George Sanders.

Neil Connery – Drinking-driving (DUI)

 He had been arrested several times for drinking and driving in Edinburgh. On October 8, 1994, he was arrested for DUI for the first time. He was arrested again in 2001 and in July 2002. He did apologize for his behavior toward his grandchildren in 2001.
