Who is Nicole Curtis?

Nicole Curtis is a designer, host, and reality TV star by profession and American by nationality. She is best known for hosting Rehab Addict and appearances on Daryl's Restoration Over-Hall, Beach Flip.

Nicole Curtis – Age, Parents, Siblings

Nicole Curtis’ birth took place on August 20, 1976, in Lake Orion, Michigan, USA. She was born Nicole Lynn Curtis to her mother Joanie Curtis and her father Rod Curtis. She is not the only child of her parents and has a sibling, a brother named Ryan Curtis who also works in the entertainment industry. 

Education, Ethnicity

For education she attended Lake Orion High School, graduating from the same in 1994. She also went on to attend colleges in Georgia, Florida, and Michigan. At first, she had intended to study law but later settled to study education. 

Her ethnicity is Anglo-Norman.

Nicole Curtis – Boyfriend, Husband, Children, Divorce

Nicole Curtis was in a relationship with Steven Cimini when she was still a college student. With her boyfriend, she gave birth to a son Ethan Cimini in 1996. 

Although it has been claimed that she and Steve had been married until 2009, it is not true. On June 12, 2018, in an Instagram post, she revealed, 

“When my oldest was a baby, I went to school full-time while cleaning houses & bartending -I was determined for us to have a “normal” life even though I was 21 and raising a baby on my own.”

She went on to date and have a child- a son Harper in May 2015 with ex-boyfriend Shane Maguire. The parents’ custody battle had gotten ugly and the judge had granted joint physical and legal custody of Harper.

In July 2019 she shared via Instagram that she has been dating the Executive Director and founder of the White Heart Foundation Ryan Sawtelle for more than a year.

Nicole Curtis – Career

Early Career

One of the earlier jobs Nicole Curtis was at Hooters. After graduating from college, she briefly worked as a teacher before eventually beginning her own cleaning business. 

Curtis had always been encouraged by her parents to take up a career in design. She got hold of design once she successfully re-designed her own bedroom.

With HGTV

Inspired to work in design, she then began to work as a realtor for a Minneapolis broker and made a guest appearance in the show Sweat Equity. Finally, after 6 months of guest appearances, in 2011, Nicole Curtis was selected to host the series Rehab Addict which airs on DIY Network and HGTV. The show has completed its 8 seasons, which last aired on August 29, 2018.

Since then she has had appearances on Daryl's Restoration Over-Hall in 2014 as well as Beach Flip in 2015. Moreover, she founded the Nicole Curtis Foundation and is actively helping children battling cancer.

Nicole Curtis – Controversy

Throughout the years Nicole Curtis has been the subject of several controversies. She was sued by the city of Minneapolis for breach of contract in 2013, which was ultimately settled in May 2017. 

According to The Blast, her ex-boyfriend Steven Cimini owes $14,685.54 in back child support and failed to show up for his latest court hearing on December 5, 2017. As a warrant, an arrest warrant was issued.

She also has an estranged relationship with her parents. In 2016 her mother filed a personal protection order against her, which was denied by the judge.  Nicole Curtis had also told the judge that her father had threatened to go to the press with her information.

Her net worth has been estimated at around $8 million. Although the details of her annual salary are not known, the average salary of an HGTV host is estimated to be $74,608.
