Parker Sawyers is an actor by profession and American by nationality. As the son of former Indianapolis deputy mayor Paula Parker-Sawyers, he is best known for starring in the films Southside’s With You, Don't Hang Up.

Parker Sawyers’ birth took place on May 24, 1984, in the United States. His father James Sawyers worked as a teacher and administrator while his mother Paula Parker-Sawyers (now Means) served as a deputy mayor of Indianapolis from 1989 to 1991. His parents raised him alongside his two siblings- older sister Elizabeth Sawyers and younger brother Winston Sawyers.

After graduating from Lawrence Central High School in 2000, Parker Sawyers went on to study at Wabash College. He graduated from the same in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy.

His ethnicity is African-American.

Parker Sawyers married his longtime girlfriend Edita Ubartaite, but the date of their wedding is not known. They had met in high school and even had attended their school prom together. With his wife, he has two children – daughter Sophia Sawyers (born Nov 2008) and son Winston Sawyers (born 2012).

Early Days

Sawyers made his debut screen role as an actor in the year 2012- in the film Hyde Park on Hudson and in an episode of the TV series Lilyhammer. This was followed by minor appearances in an episode of the TV series The Assets (2014) and in the films Austenland (2013), Monsters: Dark Continent (2014), Survivor (2015), etc.

Finally, Parker Sawyers was cast as young Barack Obama in the biographical romantic drama film Southside with You. This was his breakthrough role in Hollywood.
