Peter Macon is an actor, artist by profession, and American by nationality. He is best known for his work in the TV series The Orville as Lt. Commander Bortus and in the film Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.

Peter Macon was born on April 17, 1970, in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. His full name is Peter Jerrod Macon, his mother’s name is Aleta Macon and his father’s name is Rudolph Macon. Macon’s debut screen role was as Mike in the 1994 film World and Time Enough. Since then he has starred in the films Just One Night (2000), Numb (2003), Friendship! (2010), The Secrets of Emily Blair (2016), Shelter in Solitude (2023), Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024), among others.
