Who is Phaedra Parks?

Phaedra Parks is a lawyer, author, and reality TV star by profession, and American by nationality. She is well known for starring in Bravo TV’s reality TV show Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Phaedra Parks’ birth took place on October 26, 1973, in Athens, Georgia, USA. She was born to her father Henry Parks, a pastor, and her mother Regina Bell. She is not the only child of her parents and has three siblings, among which she is the second. Her siblings include brother Albert Bell, Henri Jacques Parks, and sister Keosha Bell.

After graduating from Clarke Central High School, Phaedra Parks was educated at Wesleyan College from 1990 to 1993 where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors. 

Then she went on to study law at the University of Georgia and earned a Juris doctorate. Furthermore, Parks also studied at Jefferson State College to earn a degree in mortuary sciences.

Her ethnicity is African-American.

Phaedra Parks – Boyfriend, Husband, Children, Divorce

Phaedra Parks married her boyfriend of 14 years, Apollo Nida, on 1 November 2009. She and her husband have two children together – sons Ayden Adonis Nida (born May 2010) and Dylan Nida (born May 8, 2013). 

After almost 8 years of marriage, the couple divorced, which was finalized on 11 July 2017.

Since then she has been known to date and be in high-profile relationships. She had a short fling with Chicago-based DJ Tone Kapone in early 2019, having dated another RHOA alum Claudia Jordan in 2016. In July 2019 it was reported that she is dating actor Medina Islam.

As a lawyer

Following college graduation, Phaedra Parks practiced law. Currently, she works as a managing partner of The Parks Group and practices law in the areas of entertainment, intellectual property rights, and civil and criminal litigation.

In addition, she has worked as the president of the Gate City Bar Association, and on the advisory board of the American Bar Association. Phaedra Parks has also worked for NBC, Fox, CNN, truTV, EXTRA, and Entertainment Tonight as an on-air legal analyst.

Books, Activist

In addition, she is also a successful author. Her book Secrets of the Southern Belle: How to Be Nice, Work Hard, Look Pretty, Have Fun, and Never Have an Off Moment was published in 2013.

Being a passionate social activist, Phaedra Parks has advocated for African-American boys, worked with her nonprofit organization Save Our Sons, and founded the Phaedra Foundation. Recently she has been featured on Bravo TV’s reality show The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA).
