Piers Morgan was born on 30 March 1965 in Newick, Sussex, England. His birth name/full name is Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan O'Meara. His father’s name is Vincent Eamonn O'Meara and his mother’s name is Gabrielle Georgina Sybille. His father worked as a dentist and is Irish. Morgan also has a brother, Jeremy, who is two years older than him.
Sadly, Piers’ father died when he was just 11 months old. His mother then remarried Glynne Pughe-Morgan. Piers took his step father’s surname.

After 17 years of marriage, Morgan and Shalloe divorced in 2008.
He then went on to date journalist Celia Walden and married her on 24th June 2010. The couple has a child together, a daughter named Elise Morgan born on 25 November 2011 in Los Angeles.

Piers Morgan: Career
Early Days
His career began around 1985, when he started to work on the South London News, and the Streatham and Tooting News as a reporter. In 1988, his career took him to become a freelancer at The Sun.
In January 1994, Piers Morgan worked as an editor for News of the World and a year later in 1995, left the newspaper. From 1995 to 2004, he worked as an editor for the Daily Mirror. In May 2005, along with Matthew Freud, he gained ownership of Press Gazette. A year later on 4th May 2006, he launched First News, a British newspaper aimed for children aged 7 to 14.
He also became an editor for Mail Online website's US operation in September 2014 and also writes for the website. He is also a writer for Mail on Sunday magazine and Live.

From being an editor and a writer, he is also a Television presenter. He has presented or appeared in shows by ITV, BBC, CNN etc such as The Importance of Being Famous (2003), Morgan and Platell, America's Got Talent (as a judge in 2006 and 2007), Britain's Got Talent (as a judge from 2007), You Can't Fire Me, I'm Famous, Piers Morgan on Sandbanks (January 2008), The Dark Side of Fame with Piers Morgan (8 September 2008).

Piers Morgan: Controversy
He was fired from The Mirror on 14 May 2004 for publishing fake photographs of alleged Iraqi prisoners being abused by British soldiers. However, in his autobiography, The Insider, he states that he had left the newspaper on his own choice.
During the time there, he is said to have been punched 3 times and emptied a glass of water by Jeremy Clarkson, over some arguments.
On 4 February 2014, transgender advocate Janet Mock appeared as a guest on Pierce’s show Piers Morgan Live. After the show, Mock dedicated series of tweets towards Pierce, accusing him of calling her "formerly a man". Pierce also responded by saying he had "never been treated in such a disgraceful manner" by a guest.

Piers Morgan is a close friend of controversial politician Donald Trump but he himself has said he isn’t completely supportive of Trumps’s decisions such as in gun violence and climate change.
On 21 January 2017, the day after Trump's inauguration, Women's March was held in Washington to which Trump described as "rabid feminists" and "vacuous".
Piers Morgan supported Trump in this matter to which actor Ewan McGregor disagreed and pulled from his interview Good Morning Britain. Morgan then accused Ewan of being a "paedophile-loving hypocrite", referring to his support in the past for Roman Polanski.
Morgan Piers has also banned several names from on appearing on his Television show.
