Who is Richard Brake?

In case you were wondering who plays the Night King in Game of Thrones. Here he is! Richard Brake is an actor by profession and Welsh-American by nationality. He is best known for his supporting roles in Batman Begins, 31, Mandy, Perfect Skin, and in Game of Thrones as the Night King.

Richard Brake – Age, Parents, Siblings

Richard Brake’s birth took place on November 30, 1964, in Ystrad Mynach, Hengoed, Wales. He was born Richard Colin Brake to British parents. He was raised with two siblings, an older brother and a younger sister in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Ohio. 

Talking about his family and upbringing in the United States, he shared,

“We moved to America when I was young, but we were always very Welsh in our home. The humor, food, traditions. Very Welsh.”

Education, Ethnicity

For education, he attended Duke University and later at the Western Reserve Academy. Brake also studied acting at the Academy of the Science of Acting and Directing under Sam Kogan and the Michael Chekhov Studio under Beatrice Straight.

His ethnicity is Welsh.

Richard Brake – Girlfriend, Wife, Children, Divorce

Brake was married to Rachel but their marriage date is not known. They have two children together, both sons. Their first child Ryan Brake was born in 1999 while Henry Brake was born on August 20, 2002.

Richard Brake and his wife, however, are divorced, although the day and year of their divorce are not known. He now lives in London, having previously lived in California.

Richard Brake – Career

Before fame

In 1993, Richard Brake began his professional career with an episode of Jeeves and Wooster. This was followed by the role in Death Machine, Cold Mountain, Batman Begins, Doom, and Munich.

Worked in

Since 2006, Brake has acted in Knights of Cydonia, The Black Dahlia, Hannibal Rising, Legacy, Thor: The Dark World (2013), Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014), 31 (2016), The Sisters Brothers (2018). In 2019, The Rhythm Section, Feedback, 3 from Hell in which he has portrayed roles is set to be released.

In TV series, he has appeared in The Deep (2010), Above Suspicion (2011), Mob City (2013), as The Night King in Game of Thrones (2014-2015), Ray Donovan (2016), Absentia (2017) to name a few.
