Rodney Carrington’s birth took place on October 19, 1968, in Longview, Texas, USA. He was born Rodney Scott Carrington to his father Robert Carrington and his mother Emily Carrington.
He is not the only child of his parents and has two siblings- brother Robert Carrington Sr. and sister Shanna. Not much is known about his early life and upbringing except that he lived in Longview, Texas from 1968 to 1990.

Before fame
Before securing his musical fame, Carrington struggled a lot. He lived in the back of a truck, sold T-shirts out of a suitcase, and worked as a comedian in local venues and in radio programs such as The Bob and Tom Show.
He released his first album in 1998 which was named Hangin' with Rodney. This album of his contained both stand-up comedy and songs that were able to climb up to No. 73 on Top Country Albums.
Soon after, Rodney Carrington released his next album, 2000's Morning Wood. Some songs did climb up the chart and one even was able to reach No. 71 on Hot Country Singles & Tracks, reaching Gold in the US Albums such as Life: C'mon Laugh You Bastards, and Nut Sack followed the releases quickly.
The latter album of his was able to reach No. 60 in A Greatest Hits package. The same year in 2004, he was able to land his debut role in Rodney. Both the albums and acting gained him deserved fame.

Rodney Carrington over the years has released a series of albums including King of the Mountains (2007), El Niño Loco (2009), Laughter's Good (2014), and Here Comes The Truth I (2017). Carrington has also acted in Beer for My Horses (2008), and AMV Hell 3: The Motion Picture (2005). His song Show them to me is very well received.
In 2016, he also toured across the country with the Here Comes The Truth Tour.
