Roman Atwood is a YouTuber by profession and an American by nationality. He is well known for his prank videos and for his vlogging channel RomanAtwoodVlogs.

Roman Atwood’s birth took place on May 28, 1983, in Millersport, Ohio, USA. He was born Roman Bernard Atwood to his mother, Susan Atwood, and his father, Curt Dale Atwood. He is not the only child of his parents and has a sibling, a brother named Dale Atwood. 

His mother passed away on May 20, 2019, after a tragic accident while on vacation with the Atwood family. Roman Atwood then took a temporary leave from social media to grieve for the loss.

For education, he attended Millersport Junior/Senior High School.

Roman Atwood married his longtime girlfriend, Shanna Riley, in 2001. He and his wife welcomed their son Noah Vaughn Atwood on October 18, 2004. But in 2008, he filed for divorce after his wife cheated on him with a friend while on a vacation.

He went on to date Brittney Smith in November 2008. The couple has two children together. Their son Kane Alexander Atwood was born on October 23, 2011, while their daughter Cora Atwood was born on July 16, 2017. 

After years of their romantic relationship, Roman Atwood proposed to Smith on April 30, 2018, and they were married in Maui, Hawaii, on July 27 of the same year. He and his wife welcomed their third child, a baby boy, Knox Atwood, in January 2021.

Brittney Smith-Atwood is also a YouTuber and Canadian, American by nationality, and was a dental assistant before giving birth to Kane.

Roman Atwood – Career

Early Career

In the mid-2000s, Roman Atwood began producing a DVD series called The Nerd Herd and sold it. He also worked at his family's rope factory, Atwood Rope. He eventually went on to focus on comedy and created a YouTube channel called Sketch Empire.

He then went on to create another YouTube channel, RomanAtwood, where he posted numerous prank videos. After years of hard work and dedication, Roman Atwood has now gained over 10.5 million subscribers. His most famous pranks include the plastic ball pranks, the anniversary prank, and the killing my kid prank, among others.

Roman Atwood also has a second YouTube channel titled RomanAtwoodVlogs. As of October 2019, he has gained over 15.5 million subscribers. His channel is currently the 50th most subscribed channel on YouTube.

Others

Atwood launched his own merchandise line, Smile More, in 2013. The brand sold T-shirts, hoodies, bracelets, etc. Along with Vitaly Zdorovetskiy and Dennis Roady, Roman Atwood released a film called Natural Born Pranksters in 2016. 

The same year, he and fellow YouTuber Yousef Erakat started a worldwide tour, Roman vs. Fousey, and performed in the United States, Canada, and the UK.

Roman Atwood was arrested in March 2014 for a prank where he pretended to rob an ATM in public. The Columbus Police Department charged him with inducing panic and disorderly conduct.

After he and his accomplices were released on bail, he was summoned to court. Atwood won the case on the basis of the expression of art and freedom of speech.
