Ronnie O'Sullivan’s birth took place on 5 December 1975 in Wordsley, West Midlands, England. He was born Ronald Antonio O'Sullivan to his father Ronald John O'Sullivan Sr. and his mother Maria O'Sullivan (née Catalano). His parents ran a string of sex shops in Soho.

O'Sullivan began his professional career in 1992, having played snooker since the age of 7. That year he won 74 of his 76 qualifying matches and was named the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association's (WPBSA) Young Player of the Year for 1993.
In the 1993/1994 season, he reached the second round of the World Championship but lost to John Parrott. He did, however, gain the title of WPBSA's Player of the Year for 1994.
Over the course of his career, Ronnie O'Sullivan has won five World Championships, seven Masters titles, and seven UK Championships, setting a record total of 19 titles in Triple Crown tournaments.
Aside from his career as a snooker player, he has worked as a pundit for Eurosport's snooker coverage and has written crime novels and autobiographies. He even has starred in the miniseries Ronnie O'Sullivan's American Hustle, on an episode of Top Gear (2004), etc.

In the 1995/1996 season, he assaulted Mike Ganley, an assistant press officer, and was suspended for two years with a £20,000 fine but was allowed to continue competing at the event.
