Rory Kinnear is an actor, and playwright by profession, and British by nationality. Having worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company, and Royal National Theatre, he is known for starring in James Bond films as Bill Tanner.

Rory Kinnear’s birth took place on 17 February 1978 in Hammersmith, London, England. He was born Rory Michael Kinnear to his father Roy Kinnear and his mother Carmel Cryan, who are both famous actors. His father died when he was just 10 years old and started acting as a way of getting to know him.
He is not the only child of his parents and has two siblings- sisters Kirsty Kinnear and Karina Kinnear. He also has other famous family members. His grandfather is Scottish international rugby union and rugby league player Roy Kinnear.

For education, Rory Kinnear attended Tower House School and then at St Paul's School in London. After graduation, he went on to study English at Balliol College, Oxford. He also studied acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

He performed in major theatres including the Royal National Theatre, Bridge Theatre, Almeida Theatre, and Old Vic, among others.
