Shari Headley is an actress, former model by profession, and American by nationality. She is best known for starring in the films Coming to America, The Preacher's Wife, Johnson Family Vacation, and in the TV series All My Children, 413 Hope St.

Headley began her career as a model in 1977. She competed in FORD Modeling Agency’s Supermodel of The World Contest and went on to work with brands such as L’Oreal, Burger King, Macy’s, Avon, etc.

As she ventured to act, she landed a guest role in two episodes of the NBC sitcom The Cosby Show in 1985. This was followed by roles in the TV series Miami Vice (1986), and Gideon Oliver (1989).

Finally, in 1988, she was cast as Lisa McDowell in the romantic comedy film Coming to America. This is her breakthrough role.
