Shepard Smith is a broadcast journalist by profession and American by nationality. Since joining Fox News Channel in 1996, he has anchored The Fox Report with Shepard Smith, Studio B, and Shepard Smith Reporting.

Shepard Smith’s birth took place on January 14, 1964, in Holly Springs, Mississippi, USA. He was born David Shepard Smith Jr. to his mother Dora Ellen Anderson, an English teacher, and his David Shepard Smith Sr., a cotton merchant.
He is not the only child of his parents and has a sibling, a brother named Benton Smith.

For education, he attended Marshall Academy and graduated from the same. After his parents and subsequent move to Florida with his mother, he studied at the University of Mississippi. There Shepard Smith studied journalism but dropped out two credits away from graduation to marry his girlfriend.

Early Career
One of Smith’s first jobs was with WJHG-TV in Panama City Beach, Florida, which he joined in 1986. He went on to work as a reporter for WBBH-TV, a reporter/anchor for WSVN, and a reporter at WCPX-TV. Shepard Smith then joined Fox News Channel at the time of its launch in 1996.
With Fox
Smith anchored numerous shows for Fox including The Fox Report with Shepard Smith, which was ranked third among U.S. cable news programs and Studio B. In 2013 he began hosting Shepard Smith Reporting and became the managing editor of Fox News' new breaking news division.
On March 15, 2018, Shepard Smith was signed with Fox to a new multi-year contract. But on October 11, 2019, after 23 years at Fox, he announced that he was leaving the network.
Others
Shepard Smith also appeared in the film Volcano (1997). The films also included a video clip of Smith anchoring on Fox News during the opening moments of the Iraq War in March 2003.
