Summer Mckeen is a social media influencer, YouTuber by profession, and American by nationality. She is well known for her self-titled YouTube channel and her makeup, and fashion sense which is displayed on her social media pages.

Summer Mckeen’s birth took place on May 12, 1999, in Eugene, Oregon, USA. She was born to her mother Lisa Dunne and her father Dennis Mckeen. She is not the only child of her parents and has two siblings- sisters Brie and Madison.

Summer Mckeen started her YouTube channel in April 2010, at the age of 11. Her original YouTube channel was named lookyheregirl while her self-titled vlogging channel started in July 2012.

Her YouTube content mostly consists of beauty hacks, makeup tutorials, fashion, hair, and wardrobe. After 10 years of vlogging, she has over 2.34 million subscribers on her YouTube channel and is a partner with the YouTube collaborative channel Style Haul. Moreover, she has starred in Snapchat’s Endless Summer and the web series Afterschooled.

In addition to vlogging, Summer Mckeen is also focused on building her own brand. Her merchandise such as her jewelry collection, and clothing including sweatshirts, leggings, hoods, etc. are sold online. 

And in May 2019 Mckeen collaborated with makeup brand Nudestix to create a Summer Proof Collection kit, with Maybelline to create Maybelline X Summer McKeen Lip Gloss, and with Billabong to create Billabong x Summer Mckeen.

Summer Mckeen – Controversy

Her makeup kit, which was sold for $69 included a bronzer stick, blush stick, highlighter, and lip balm and was only suitable for light-skinned people. Eventually, she was accused of being racist.

In a YouTube video uploaded by Cartier Tea, Mckeen and her best friend Hannah Meloche were recorded making fun of fan edits and bashing other YouTubers- Emma Chamberlain, The Dolan Twins, and Antonio Garza. Both later apologized amid the controversy.
