Who is Tasneem Roc?

Tasneem Roc is an actress by profession and Australian by nationality. The daughter of Scottish author Margaret Roc, she is well known for starring in the TV series Heartbreak High, Reef Doctors, and the film Love and Monsters.

Tasneem Roc was born on 11 December 1978 in Sydney, Australia. Her mother is Scottish author Margaret Roc and her father John Roc is a Karen (ethnolinguistic group and Sino-Tibetan language speaker) from Burma. Her parents raised her alongside her sibling- a younger brother named James Roc.

For education, Tasneem Roc attended Turramurra High School. Following graduation, she went on to study at the Australian Theatre for Young People and later graduated from the University of Sydney in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) English Literature/Art History.

Early Days

Tasneem Roc’s debut TV role was in the TV series Heartbreak High as Mariel. She reprised the role in 1999 as her character was made the main role of the series. This is her breakthrough role which introduced her to a wide range of TV series as well as films.

Over the years Roc has appeared in the films The 7th Hunt (2009), Burning Man (2011), Kath & Kimderella (2012), The Little Death (2014), Love and Monsters (2020), and Godzilla vs. Kong (2021). 

Moreover, Tasneem Roc has also appeared in a recurring role in the TV series Head Start (2001), Dream Team (2002-2003), Home and Away (2009-2010), and guest appearances in Packed to the Rafters (2009), Reef Doctors (2013), Cleverman (2017), Doctor Doctor (2019), Reckoning (2020), to name a few.

In 2013 she was cast as the main character Olivia Shaw in Reef Doctors. The show ran for a total of one season.
