Early Days

While at Washington University, Tijuana Ricks was a member of the Kaktabülz Sketch Comedy Troupe alongside Johnny Kastl, Brent Douglas, Ken Ferrigni, and Sanjit De Silva. After her master’s degree, she moved to New York City to start her career in the screen.

Her debut role was in the 2006 episode of Conviction as Mrs. Mosely. This was followed by minor appearances in the films The Architect (2006), The Savages (2007), The Girl in the Park (2007), and TV series Law & Order, 30 Rock, etc. Her role as Nurse Maggie in the TV series Guiding Light gained her much recognition. She portrayed the character for a total of 19 episodes, from 2006 to 2009.
