Who is Todd Palin?
Todd Palin is an oil field production operator, commercial fisherman, and former First Gentleman of Alaska from 2006 to 2009. Often known as the “first dude”, he is the husband of Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor, and father of five, including Bristol Palin.

Todd Palin’s birth took place on September 6, 1964, in Dillingham, Alaska, USA. He was born Todd Mitchell Palin to his mother, Blanche Palin, and his father, James F. Palin. He is not the only child of his parents and has a sibling, a brother named James Dean Palin.

For education, he attended Wasilla High School, graduating in 1982. He did join a college but dropped out before earning a degree.
His ethnicity includes Yup'ik, Dutch, and English.

Todd Palin eloped with his high school girlfriend, Sarah Heath, in August 1988 and married on August 29, 1988.
He and his wife have 5 children together Track Charles James Palin (born April 20, 1989), Bristol Sheeran Marie Palin (born October 18, 1990), Willow Bianca Faye Palin (born July 7, 1995), Piper Indy Grace Palin (born 2001) and Trig Paxson Van Palin (born April 18, 2008), who has Down syndrome. The couple is also grandparents.
However, after 31 years of marriage, Todd Palin filed for divorce from his wife, Sarah Palin, on August 29, 2019, citing “incompatibility of temperament between the parties such that they find it impossible to live together as husband and wife."
Their divorce was finalized in July 2020.

Todd Palin – Career
He worked for BP in the North Slope oil fields of Alaska for 18 years, later as a production supervisor. In 2007, Todd Palin took a leave from his job in order to avoid a conflict of interest between his wife's position as governor and his employer, which had been involved in natural gas pipeline negotiations with his wife's administration.
However, after 7 months, Todd Palin returned to his work because the family needed more income, and accepted a non-management position as a production operator. On September 18, 2009, he resigned from his job. Palin is also a commercial salmon fisherman and fishes at Bristol Bay on the Nushagak River.

When his wife became the Governor of Alaska from 2006 to 2009, Todd Palin held the title “the first gentleman”. He is also a philanthropist and served as a community volunteer in youth sports, as well as coached hockey and basketball.
In show business, Todd Palin was selected as a judge in the 2008 Miss Alaska pageant, in August 2012, competed in the Stars Earn Stripes, and made his acting debut in an episode of The Detour.
He is also passionate about horse racing. Through his racehorse, First Dude (which is also Palin’s nickname), he finished second at the 2010 Preakness Stakes and won the 2011 Hollywood Gold Cup. Moreover, he is a champion snowmobile racer and is a four-time champion of the Tesoro Iron Dog.
