Goldwyn has three siblings, brothers John Goldwyn, and Francis Goldwyn and a sister Catherine Howard Goldwyn. He is also the uncle of Emily Goldwyn and the stepson of Peggy Elliott. Moreover, his half-siblings are Liz Goldwyn and Peter Goldwyn. Both John and Peter are now film producers.

Before fame

The aspiring actor began his professional career soon after his graduation in the mid-1980s. His first roles were in the films Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986), Gaby: A True Story (1987), and in the TV series Designing Women (1987), Favorite Son (1988), Murphy Brown (1988).

Finally, in 1990, he landed his breakthrough role as Carl Bruner in the film Ghost, for which he was nominated Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Since his breakthrough role, Tony Goldwyn has worked in more than a hundred TV series, films, and stage plays as an actor, producer, or director.
