Who is Tulsi Gabbard?
Tulsi Gabbard is a politician by profession, Hindu by religion, and American by nationality. She has been serving as the U.S. Representative for Hawaii's 2nd congressional district since 2013. She is a Democrat and is running for President of the United States in 2020.
Tulsi Gabbard – Age, Parents, Siblings
Tulsi Gabbard’s birth took place on April 12, 1981, in Leloaloa, Maoputasi County, American Samoa, USA. She was born to her Hindu mother Carol Gabbard (née Porter) and her catholic father Mike Gabbard, also a politician.
She is not the only child of her parents and has four siblings, three older brothers- Bhakti Gabbard, Jai Gabbard, and Aryan Gabbard, and a younger sister Vrindavan Gabbard.
Education, Ethnicity
Mike Gabbard is of Samoan and European ancestry while Carol Gabbard is of German descent. Tulsi Gabbard was homeschooled. She later enrolled at Hawaii Pacific University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration in 2009.
Growing up, she loved martial arts, gardening, and surfing and was an accomplished athlete and a martial arts instructor. Her ethnicity includes German, Samoan, English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, and Cornish.
Tulsi Gabbard – Boyfriend, Husband, Children, Divorce
Gabbard married her longtime boyfriend Eduardo Tamayo in 2002. But they soon divorce on June 5, 2006, and she cited "the stresses war places on military spouses and families" as a reason for their divorce.
She went on to date Abraham Williams, a freelance cinematographer, and editor. The couple soon got engaged in February 2015 and married on April 9, 2015. She is currently happily married to her husband. Tulsi Gabbard does not have children from any of her relationships or marriages yet.

Tulsi Gabbard – Career
As a politician
Gabbard, who was only 21, ran the 2002 elections to represent the 42nd House District of the Hawaii House of Representatives.
She won the election making her the youngest legislator ever elected in Hawaii's history and the youngest woman ever elected to a U.S. state legislature. She served until 2004.
In 2011, she ran for a seat on the Honolulu City Council and won. Tulsi Gabbard was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2013, the position she still serves to date.
In 2016, Gabbard was mentioned as a possible presidential candidate. On February 2, 2019, she officially launched her 2020 presidential campaign.

In military
While still serving in the State Legislature, Tulsi Gabbard enlisted in the Hawaii Army National Guard in April 2003. She served in a field medical unit as a specialist in a combat zone and has been deployed to Iraq from 2004 to 2005, and to Kuwait from 2008 to 2009.
In March 2007, she graduated from the Accelerated Officer Candidate School at the Alabama Military Academy, making her the first woman to finish as a distinguished honor graduate. On October 12, 2015, she was promoted from captain to major.

On November 25, 2013, she was awarded John F. Kennedy New Frontier Award and on July 15, 2015, Gabbard received the Friend of the National Parks Award from the National Parks Conservation Association.
From the Hawaii Army National Guard, she has earned Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and Army Combat Medical Badge.
