Her mother Jennie Buckman worked as an acting teacher while her father Nick Blatchley worked as a government health official. Schwimmer is an actor best known for portraying Ross Gellar in the sitcom Friends. She and her actor-husband welcomed daughter Cleo Buckman Schwimmer on May 8, 2011. Their marriage was troubled and the pair separated in April 2017 and eventually divorced.

Artist

Before becoming an artist, Buckman worked as a photographer. She eventually became an artist and opened her own art exhibition. Her first work was Heavy Rag which expressed the dichotomy of boxing – where gloves are used both to harm and protect.

Her work Present Life took in form of Zoe Buckman’s plastinated placenta which was preserved after the birth of daughter Cleo Buckman Schwimmer. The fact that her placenta had deteriorated and Cleo could have been stillborn inspired this artwork of hers. Her other famous work includes Every Curve, Mostly It’s Just Uncomfortable, and Let Her Rave.

Others

Aside from her work as an artist, she has had numerous collaborations. She worked with American artist Natalie Frank on We Hold These Truths To Be Self-Evident, which was Buckman’s first public project. This 2017 mural was in response to the election of Donald Trump’s presidency.
