Actress Cindy Morgan, star of Caddyshack and Tron, found dead at 69

Actress Cindy Morgan best known for her role in the 1980 film Caddyshack has passed away. She was 69.

According to TMZ, Morgan died at her home in Lake Worth Beach, Florida.

The Tron star was discovered by her roommate after coming home from a trip on Dec. 30, 2023. The roommate had knocked on the actress’ bedroom door and got no response.

Since she smelled a  strong odor coming from the room, she called the cops.

The cops pronounced the Caddyshack dead at the scene. Morgan’s roommate had last seen her alive on December 19, 2023.

TMZ reported no suspicion of foul play and a representative of the county said she died from “natural causes.”

However, an investigation is underway.

No further details have been provided about when she passed away or under what circumstances.

Her body has been placed

In Caddyshack, she portrayed the character Lacey Underall alongside Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, and Bill Murray.

In a 2012 MegaCon Orlando interview, she shared, “Caddyshack was my first film and I’ll say that the end product was so completely different, it was originally about the caddie. So at first, I had nothing to lose to audition. It was fun.”

She added, “All I did was focus on making the person sweat. Look ’em in the eye, do that thing many women know how to…”

In the 1982 film Tron, she played a computer programmer and her alter-ego Yori.

Aside from films, the late actress also appeared in numerous TV shows including Hunter, Matlock, and Falcon Crest.

She did not have any upcoming projects and her last film credit was in 2022’s Face of the Trinity as the main character’s mother.

Overall, Morgan has starred in at least 13 films and in over 25 television series.

Before starting her career in Irish Spring commercials, she attended 12 years of Catholic school and later studied at Northern Illinois University.

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, she worked in a TV station as a weather forecaster and later for Fiat Automobiles.

Her father was a Polish immigrant and World War 2 veteran. Morgan also was dedicated to raising money for U.S. Military veterans and the Illinois Military Family Relief Fund.
