Former Bachelorette contestant Clint Arlis’s cause of death has been revealed to be suicide by hanging.

The 34-year-old had been reportedly struggling with paranoia and thought people were watching him. According to the same investigation report, it revealed that he and his girlfriend of four years had been having issues. And once Arlis moved back with his parents, his family thought “things were getting better.”

The reality TV alum, who passed away on January 11, had plans to go to a local high school for a workout the same morning. It also has been revealed that Clint Arlis had written a note and left it behind on his dresser.

Although the reality star competed for Kaitlyn Bristowe’s heart in season 11 of Bachelorette, he had never been public about his mental health struggles.

Taylor, Arlis’ sister announced his death a few days after on Facebook, “It is with great sadness, to tell you that my family has lost my best friend and older brother Clint on the morning of January 11^th. Please respect our family’s privacy as we try to cope with this great loss.”

In response, Bristowe, 36, took to the Instagram story to discuss his passing.

“I’m not sure what happened, how it happened. All I want to say is that from knowing him on the show, even though things didn’t end on the best terms for us, from his time on the show until today, I have heard nothing but incredible things about that person….Clint was very well respected in his world, and it’s an absolute tragedy what’s happened,” she said.

Clint Arlis had been athletic all his life. Being born to a family of wrestlers and coaches, he too was an accomplished wrestler.

His high school coach, Scott Bayer, tweeted on the death of his student, “t is with a heavy heart and a sense of profound loss that we announce the death of one of the Batavia Wrestling Program’s All-Time greats. He was [a] talented artist with a sharp wit, a sardonic sense of humor, and palpable authenticity. The heartfelt speech he dedicated to his dad at his retirement celebration made me proud to know both of them.”
