Autopsy reports have confirmed that the late Bobbi Kristina Brown’s ex-fiancé, Nick Gordon died from an accidental heroin overdose on January 1, 2020. He was 30 at the time.

According to TMZ, which obtained Gordon’s toxicology and the autopsy report, his system contained Caffeine, morphine, naloxone, and Narcan, a drug used to treat individuals who have overdosed on opioids. 

When a 911 call was placed 0n New Year’s Day, Gordon was already in cardiac arrest and had “black stuff coming out of his mouth”. Police had arrived at the Maitland, Fla., Sheraton where Gordon was staying at around 5:15 a.m. and was taken to Altamonte Springs Hospital. He died there seven hours later.

Gordon was found legally liable in the death of Kristina Brown, 22, back in January 2015. The daughter of singers Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston had been found face down in a bathtub in her home in Alpharetta, Georgia. She passed away on July 26, 2015, after six months in the hospital.

Police had investigated Gordon in conjunction with Bobbi Kristina Brown’s death but was not charged. Brown’s family had filed and won a $36 million wrongful death civil suit against Gordon.

Brown’s mother Whitney Houston too passed away on February 11, 2012, after she drowned in a bathtub.  Nick Gordon had been known as a prolific drug user. His friend Max Lomas who lived with  Brown and him intermittently also died of a fentanyl overdose in August 2018.

Whitney Houston had taken in Nick Gordon when he was 12 years old and had raised him like a son alongside her daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, who was 9 years old at the time. They used to call each other “Li’l Sis” and “Big Bruh” in social media posts as teenagers. However, their relationship turned to romance after Houston’s death, and was engaged in 2013.

On the controversy around their engagement, Bobbi Kristina Brown had posted on Facebook, “I’m tired of hearing people say, ‘Eww your [sic] engaged to your brother’ or if Whitney was still alive would we be together or would she approve of this? Mommy was the one who even said that she knew that we were going to start dating. My mom knows me better than any of you.”
