Singer and Actress Cher has filed for legal conservatorship over her son Elijah Blue Allman’s estate.

The 77-year-old has requested to be the sole conservator of Allman’s estate over concerns that he cannot properly take care of himself. The filing also claims that he is unable to “manage his own financial resources” due to his alleged struggles with drug abuse.

However, the documents also claimed that she has not been able to discuss the conservatorship because of his “current mental and physical health issues” which leaves him unable to “form or express a preference.”

Cher also expressed her concern that the 47-year-old cannot manage his finances and “any funds distributed to Elijah will immediately be spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself, and putting Elijah’s life at risk.”

Elijah Blue Allman is the son of the late musician Gregg Allman. His mother, Cher, also noted that Allman makes $120,000 a year and “is entitled to regular distributions from a trust established by his father for his benefit.” However, he has an estimated $0 value in personal property.

A court date is set up for March 6, 2024.

The conservatorship comes three months after it was reported that Cher had hired a group of men to “kidnap” Eijah from a New York City hotel room. She did it with the “greatest and best intentions possible” to help him with his alleged drug addiction.

Before checking into rehab, Elijah was living with his wife Marieangela King without electricity in their Beverly Hills home and was trying to save his marriage. They had married in 2013.

However, Cher has denied hiring men, saying she did her best to guide him.

“I’m a mother. This is my job — one way or another — to try to help my children. You do anything for your children. Whenever you can help them, you just do it because that’s what being a mother is. But it’s joy, even with heartache. Mostly, when you think of your children, you just smile and you love them, and you try to be there for them,” she said.

Cher also has a son – Chaz Bono, 54, - whom she shares with her first husband, late musician Sonny Bono.
