‘Empire’ actress Lindsey Pearlman's cause of death revealed
Actress Lindsey Pearlman’s cause of death has been revealed to have been suicide.
According to a report obtained by People, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner ruled Pearlman’s death as a suicide caused by sodium nitrite toxicity. The report also added “presence of non-toxic levels of lorazepam, metoclopramide, and codeine” were found in her system.
The Empire actress had gone missing on February 16. Two days later, she was found dead near the entrance of Runyon Canyon Park, LA inside a vehicle. She was 43.
After an initial autopsy report came back inconclusive, the spokeswoman for the coroner revealed that further testing needs to be done to determine the cause of death.
In a since-deleted Instagram post, her husband Vance Smith had written, “She’s gone. I’m broken.”
The representatives for the late actress and animal rights advocate said that the deceased’s family did not wish to discuss her death publicly.
"We are deeply saddened by Lindsey Pearlman’s passing today. The family has asked for privacy during this difficult time while they process and grieve,” the statement read.
