Late singer Aaron Carter’s family had him cremated, according to his death certificate.

In the papers obtained by TMZ, Carter’s ashes will be held by his twin sister, Angel Carter.

Aaron Carter was found dead in a bathtub at his home in Lancaster, California on November 5. He was 34.

Although the official cause is yet to be determined, police reported that they had found multiple cans of compressed air and bottles of prescription pills at the scene.

As per the legal court documents, his mother Jane Cater was the first person to be informed of his untimely death.

The artist’s representatives told the outlet at the time, “The family has been notified and will be flying out to Los Angeles. Aaron worked very hard towards the end of his life in recovery, to be a good father and to make amends with his family.”

TMZ also revealed that his lawyers had advised him to write a will following the birth of his son Prince in November 2021, whom he shares with his on-again, off-again fiancée Melanie Martin. But as he had never gotten to write his will, his estate will likely pass on to Prince per California succession laws as he had not married at the time of his death.

Aaron Carter’s older brother, the 42-year-old Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter, addressed his brother’s death on Instagram, Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded. I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed. Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here.”
