Hugh Jackman’s estranged wife Deborra-Lee Furness speaks on ‘traumatic’ divorce

Hugh Jackman’s estranged wife Deborra-Lee Furness is finally breaking her silence amid romance with Sutton Foster.

Furness, 69, separated from Jackman, 56, in September 2023, ending their 27-year marriage. She has officially filed for divorce from the The Greatest Showman star.

An insider told Daily Mail that she has received ‘a handsome spousal support payment’ and there will be no ‘drama.’

The source said, “A settlement was reached that Deborra is pleased with which includes a handsome spousal support payment. There was some back and forth regarding this financial agreement but, in the end, she got what she believed she deserved. Both are coming out of this financially secure.”

“There is not going to be any drama with this gives closure that she needed,” the source added.

Another source revealed, “They have worked out the details in advance and everything is ironed out in terms of a settlement, alimony and the expenses for the future of their children. They are amicable, and they are both fully committed to being the best parents that they can be.”

The former couple shares two adopted children - Oscar Maximilian Jackman, 25, and Ava Eliot Jackman, 19.

Their decades-long marriage seems to have fallen apart during Covid, around the same time Jackman started a friendship with Sutton Foster. The pair co-starred on the 2022 Broadway revival of The Music Man.

Furness said in a statement, “My heart and compassion go out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal. It’s a profound wound that cuts deep, however, I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us.”

“We are all on our individual journeys, and I believe that the relationships in our lives are not random. We are drawn to people, we invite them in, in order to learn our lessons and to recognize and heal the broken parts of ourselves...I remain grateful,” she added.

Sutton Foster was married to Ted Griffin. They too are amid finalizing their divorce.

Furness and Jackman first met in 1995 on the Australian TV show Correlli. Back then, she was a major star while he was fresh out of drama school.

The Wolverine star has since publicly started dating Sutton Foster.
