Jana Kramer, husband Mike Caussin gets candid on their broken marriage ‘boundary’

Former NFL player Mike Caussin got candid about his ongoing recovery from sex addiction during a new episode of his wife Jana Kramer’s podcast Whine Down. This discussion comes amid split rumors with his wife actress Jana Kramer.

In October 2019 One Tree Hill actress revealed that she had found a photo of a topless woman on her husband’s phone. She then added that shortly after the incident she was having a “nervous breakdown.”

32-year-old Mike Caussin, who had signed with Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2010, confessed in the podcast, “Even if I’m not relapsing or acting out or stepping outside of our marriage if I’m still breaking boundaries or not being completely honest with things like the picture stuff, how is that sober? How is that living with integrity? It’s not.”

To which  Kramer noted the boundary has been broken, “There was a boundary that was broken that was harmful to me because it was a discovery. But again, it wasn’t a physical acting out, so that’s why I’m careful cause I do want to protect you as well, because I don’t want people to think it was a physical relapse, but it was such a big discovery with a boundary that was harmful to me and our relationship.” she added, "I feel hopeful for the tools that we’ve been learning, but it’s also very scary.”

The couple shares a  4-year-old daughter Jolie Rae Caussin and a 1-year-old son Jace  Caussin. They had tied the knot on May 22, 2015, but had initially separated a year later. 

Kramer, 36 captioned a picture of them on Instagram “Very honest whine down today. Our HOPE and why we do this is we pray it’s helping those that also need it. Some may never understand our relationship and that’s okay because it’s not their relationship. It’s ours. And we are doing the best we can to learn, grow, and be better than yesterday for ourselves, each other, and our beautiful babies who deserve a happy house.”

"The mom of two added, “And I appreciate Mike for speaking his truth on the road of recovery. Takes a strong man to step into the vulnerable place he did on today’s podcast...it was helpful to re-hear some of the things we talked about because the pain can go deep but to understand where it may come from is very helpful and we pray it helps y’all too for those that may find the same struggle.“

She ended the post with Brene Brown’s quote “Staying vulnerable is a risk we have to take if we want to experience connection” 

This is the third marriage for Jana Kramer, who had been married to Michael Gambino in 2004. Their marriage lasted less than a year after Kramer suffered severe domestic abuse from Gambino. She had married actor Johnathon Schaech on July 4, 2010, but separated a month later while their divorce was finalized in June 2011.
