Keke Palmer files for full custody of son, 8 months

Actress and singer Keke Palmer has filed for sole legal and physical custody of her 8-month-old son, Leodis – whom she shares with Darius Jackson.

As per court documents filed on Thursday, the 30-year-old was allowed to have joint custody of Leodis but she chose not to. 

Although the reasons for her court filing are not clear, it was revealed that both parties are responsible for their respective legal fees. The documents also revealed that the court “may make orders for child support” and “issue an earnings assignment without further notice to either party.”

The pair's relationship has been in turmoil since Palmer danced with Usher at his Las Vegas residency in July. Jackson, 29, had publicly shamed Palmer for the outfit she wore to the concert.

He tweeted at the time, “It’s the outfit tho..you a mom.” This tweet of his sparked a lot of negative backlash online. 

He also tweeted, “Being betrayed by someone you loved really changes your mindset,”..” Just thank God & keep it pushing,” and “Nobody apologized for how they treated me, they just blamed me for how I reacted.”

Palmer was also a part of the controversy for selling “I’m a Motha” merch and boasting about freedom but later appearing with Usher in his Boyfriend music video.

Back in August 2023, it was reported that Palmer and Jackson had broken up. However, in September, he took to social. They also attended Beyonce’s Renaissance concert together.

The couple had first gone public with their relationship in 2021 but it is unclear if the pair have not separated.
