He said YES!

Jonathan Bennett, who is famous for playing Aaron Samuels in the 2004 comedy Mean Girls is now an engaged man after TV host boyfriend Jaymes Vaughan proposed with their own original song.

The pair who exclusively shared their proposal video with People also told their engagement story to the outlet.

The 39-year-old actor was first told the photographers were there to take family Christmas card photos but “then no one would look me in the eye and I was like, ‘What is going on?'”

“My sister shouted for me to come outside ‘real quick’ and my F.O.M.O. kicked in so I ran outside. Then I looked over and saw Jaymes holding a sign that said, ‘We never did find our song, so I wrote it for you.’ That’s when I knew was getting proposed to because it was the same type of sign he made when he told me he loved me for the first time. And then I began to ugly-cry the ugliest cry anyone.” Jonathan Bennett added.

Apparently, Vaughan wrote the song with the help of a producer friend while Bennett was filming Hallmark Channel’s The Christmas House in Canada for six weeks.

“Every single part of the song was personal to Jonathan,” Vaughan spoke of the song and proposal. “Every lyric, even the structure of the melody was designed with how I knew he’d sing it back to me. He has this really cute way of singing things back to me. I just wanted him to feel like the most special person in those three minutes of first hearing the song.”

Alongside a series of pictures of the romantic proposal, Bennett also took to Instagram to announce his engagement, “I said yes! And ugly cried like a crazy person. So excited to share this moment, from the custom rings he had made for us with @kayjewelers to the song he wrote and sang for me. Can’t wait to show you the video this week. But for right now just this moment of joy.”
