Melinda Gates, Jon Du Pre breakup confirmed - engagement rumors put to rest

Melinda Gates has laid the rumors of engagement to former Fox News reporter Jon Du Pre to rest!

The billionaire philanthropist sparked rumors that she and Du Pre were engaged after she was pictured wearing a massive diamond ring on that finger.

She was all smiles as she stepped off a helicopter in New York City and was followed by an assistant.

However, a representative of Gates denied the gossip.

“Melinda is not engaged and is no longer dating Jon Du Pre,” the spokesperson shared.

Moreover, it remains unknown when the pair broke up.

Gates, 59, and Jon, 65, were first linked in April 2022 while attending Nets and Celtics game together.

The author has three children with his ex-wife Gina – daughter Jessie, who graduated from the University of Utah, and sons Kasey and Jonny, who graduated from Brigham Young University.

On the other hand, Gates was married to Microsoft founder Bill Gates from 1994 to 2021, ending their 27-year marriage. The former couple are parents to three children – daughters Jennifer Gates and Phoebe Gates, and son Rory John Gates.

“After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage,” they released a joint statement at the time.

After the divorce was finalized just three months later, she admitted that her ex-husband’s association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein played a role in their divorce.

“I did not like that he had meetings with Jeffrey Epstein, no. I made that clear to him. He was abhorrent. He was evil personified. My heart breaks for these women,” she said while on CBS Mornings.

During their marriage, in 2000, the former couple founded Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. It is now reported to be the second-largest charitable foundation in the world with $69 billion in assets.

Bill Gates, who has an estimated net worth of over $127 billion, has been dating Paula Hurd since 2023. They made their relationship official while attending the 10th Breakthrough Prize Ceremony at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures red carpet.

Hurd is the widow of late Oracle CEO Mark Hurd.
