Discovery Channel’s Naked and Afraid contestant Melanie Rauscher passed away at the age of 35. She was found dead on July 17, 2022, in Prescott, Arizona.

TMZ shared that the Prescott Police Department representative Corey Kasun confirmed the news adding that she was dog sitting in the city while the homeowners were out of town. Upon returning they found the reality star dead in their guest room. There were also cans of dust cleaner containing compressed air near her body.

It’s unclear if Rauscher had consumed cans’ content and there was no suicide note left behind.

According to the outlet, police also said there were no signs of foul play or drug paraphernalia.

Melanie Rauscher competed on the Discover channel’s Naked and Afraid and Naked and Afraid XL in 2015.

Jeremy McCaa, the former classmate and close friend of the deceased, took to Facebook to remember her.

“She came into my life in a way I can’t explain. We had such chemistry on the show and it blossomed into a friendship that goes beyond words could describe. Her laughter was one of a kind. Her friendship was amazing. Even tho we wasn’t blood, we was family. I could always count on her.”

He continued, “We had so many moments when we would just be there for each other. She was my swamp wife, a best friend, a strong woman, an amazing person and I’ll always cherish our moments together. You’re gone too soon and taken from us too early. You’ll always be my Mel.”

“I’ll see you again one day. The world lost an amazing person. Please keep her family and friends in your prayers. See you again my Queen,” he concluded.
