'Riverdale’ and ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ star Luke Perry hospitalized after Stroke! Is he under induced coma?
Luke Perry, 52 was hospitalized in Los Angeles after suffering a stroke. A Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson revealed that at 9:39 a.m. on Wednesday (27th February 2019) a call was made from Perry's home in Sherman Oaks, California asking for an unspecified medical request. The paramedics then rushed to the site and transported Perry to a nearby hospital.
The news hit after Fox confirmed on February 28, 2019, that they will be reviving Beverly Hills, 90210 for initial six episodes. However, Perry will not be reprising his role as Dylan McKay due to his commitment to Riverdale.
Is Luke Perry in a coma?
TMZ reported that Perry is in a medically induced coma. Arnold Robinson, Perry's representative confirmed that he is under observation at the hospital and not in a coma. He added that Perry is merely sedated.
Love poured In
Since Perry’s health condition hit the news, fans, and supporters are pouring their love. His former and current co-stars took to social media to express their love and well wishes.
Former Co-star Shannen Doherty took to Instagram with a prom photograph from the TV series.
She captioned the pic,
“My friend. Holding you tight and giving you my strength. You got this."
Ian Ziering, showing his bromance with Luke Perry posted a picture on Instagram.
He captioned the pic,
"No words can express what my heart feels hearing today's shocking news. Let us all say a prayer for his speedy recovery."
While other co-stars of Perry took to Twitter.
Dean Cain who played Rick, Brenda’s (Shannen Doherty) love interest in Beverly Hills, 90210 took to Twitter.
Molly Ringwald, who portrayed Mary Andrews in CW's Riverdale series also sent out her love via tweet.
Riverdale co-star John Behlmann sent out his tweet, as a response to the news from Variety,
Kristy Swanson, Luke Perry’s co-star from 1992's Buffy the Vampire Slayer also paid her tribute.
