Shanina Shaik and DJ Ruckus have called it quits.

The 28-year-old Australian Victoria's Secret model and 35-year-old music artist have ended their marriage, just a year after tying the knot.

The soon-to-be ex-couple rep released a statement,

"After careful thought and consideration, Shanina Shaik and Greg 'DJ Ruckus' Andrews have decided to separate. They move forward with much mutual respect and love for each other, and ask to please respect their privacy during this time."

DJ Ruckus, whose real name is Greg Andrews was last pictured with his wife (soon-to-be ex) in public on May 16, in New York City.

Engagement and Wedding

The couple had gotten engaged in 2015 just after Christmas while on a vacation on Andrews’ cousin Lenny Kravitz's private island in the Bahamas. 

The couple returned there in April 2018 to wed in a star-studded wedding. Celebrities Ashlee Simpson-Ross and Evan Ross, and Rev Run and his wife Justine were there to see the two tie the knot. 

"So Many Things to Do"

Just months ago in February Shanina Shaik had said in an interview that she was "thinking about a family and when to settle down" but had so many things to do,

"But there are so many things on my dream board that I need to tick off and want to do, and hopefully I'll do some more movies as well. If I can do all of that, I'll be very happy."

The news came as a surprise as Shanina Shaik and DJ Ruckus looked cozy at the 2019 Coachella. They are yet to comment on the breakup.
