Sister Wives star Kody Brown breaks up with Meri after 32 years

Last Modified: 9th Sep

Sister Wives star Kody Brown has separated from his first wife Meri after 32 years together- 24 of which were legally married.

They had been in a polygamous marriage - with Kody being married to three other women.

The 51-year-old Meri explained that after his sister-wife Christine, 53, ended their “spiritual union” last year, the family patriarch was frustrated that she “made the decision” without him. However, the irony is that Kody has now done the same to Meri.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the polygamous family moved to Flagstaff, Arizona but during their second anniversary living there, Kody Brown reportedly told Meri that he didn’t consider himself married to her.

She said in a preview clip of Sister Wives: One on One, “Then he says, ‘No, I don’t consider myself married to Meri. Like, he just made the decision. I’ve never heard him say that to me.”

“He’s like, ‘I don’t even know why you called me Meri.’ He’s like, ‘We’re not married. We’re not acting as married,' I said to him, ‘Then if that’s where we are, don’t you think that we should address that publicly?’ And he said, ‘No I don’t want to address it. I don’t want that to be out there publicly because I don’t want that judgment,” she added.

Although according to Meri, Kody has made the decision, she would like their “spiritual union” to work but “don’t think that he’s interested.”

Just a week ago, Kody’s third wife Janelle Brown announced that they had separated for several months. Kody and Meri officially divorced in 2014 while in 2021, he and his second wife Christine ended their “spiritual union.” He does have a polygamous bond with his fourth wife Robyn Brown.
