Tori Spelling, Dean McDermott head for divorce – ending 17 years of marriage
Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott have called it quits.
McDermott, 56, announced their separation and subsequent divorce from Spelling, 50, on June 17, 2023. The pair had been married for 17 years and share five children together.
In a since deleted Instagram post, the Due South alum wrote, “It’s with great sadness and a very very heavy heart that after 18 years together and 5 amazing children, that @torispelling and I have decided to go our separate ways, and start a new journey of our own.”
He added, “We will continue to work together as loving parents and guide and love our children through this difficult time. We ask that you all respect our privacy as we take this time to surround our family with love and work our way through this. Thank you all for your support and kindness.”

In the past, the Canadian actor and Beverly Hills, 90210 star repeatedly brushed off rumors about their marital woes.
Back in March 2021, rumors of their separation began after Spelling was pictured without her wedding ring. Just two months later, the actress admitted that she and McDermott had been sleeping in separate rooms.
She told her host Jeff Lewis on his SiriusXM radio show in June 2021, “Right now, my kids and dogs sleep in my bed.”
The BH90210 also added that her husband had left for “another country” to film a project.
McDermott also downplayed claims about his failing marriage.
He said on a podcast, “It’s just weird that people need to know. What’s going on with Tori and Dean? She’s not wearing her ring.’ Why do you need to know that? How is that going to affect your day? I don’t reply anymore. It’s just like, ‘OK, if that’s what you want to think, then think it.’”
In 2005, Spelling and McDermott first met in Ottawa, Canada on the set of the TV movie Mind Over Murder. Both were married at the time.
Spelling finalized her divorce from Charlie Shanian just a month later.
The former couple tied the knot on May 7, 2006, in a private ceremony in Fiji. In late 2013, McDermott admitted to cheating on Spelling but the couple worked their marriage – and based on the infidelity released the 2014 Lifetime docuseries True Tori.

They share sons Liam, 16, Finn, 10, and Beau, 6, and daughters Stella, 15, and Hattie, 11.
