Aisling Bea is a professional actress, writer, comedian, and Irish national. She is best known for starring in Living with Yourself, This Way Up, Quiz, and a frequent contestant on the spin-off 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

Aisling Bea’s birth took place on 16 March 1984 in Kildare, County Kildare, Ireland. Born as Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan to father Brian O'Sullivan, an equine veterinarian, and mother Helen O'Sullivan, a secondary school teacher, jockey trainer, and former professional jockey, she is not the only child of her parents.
She has a sibling- a younger sister named Sinéad Kidao, a film costume designer. Her father died by suicide when she was three years old, which she did not know until she was 13 years old. Bea was raised by her mother.
Growing up her family was "obsessed" with horses and race meetings. She did work as a tour guide at the Irish National Stud but was not really interested in the racing industry.

For education, Aisling Bea attended a Catholic convent school. After graduation, she studied French and philosophy at Trinity College Dublin. She also studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).

Early Days
Following graduation from LAMDA, Aisling Bea worked as a dramatic actress but was instead cast in comedic television series such as Cardinal Burns (2012), and Dead Boss (2012). So she decided to try stand-up comedy.
She won The Gilded Balloon So You Think You're Funny award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2012 and for her show, C'est La Bea was nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2013 Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Newcomer.
Comedy
Since 2009 Aisling Bea has performed stand-up comedy at different events/channels. These include the shows Sabotage (2009), Fresh From the Fringe (2009) on BBC Radio 4, Seann Walsh's Late Night Comedy Spectacular (2013), Russell Howard's Good News (2013) on BBC Three.
Other shows are namely performances at Live at the Apollo (2014), Channel 4's Comedy Gala (2014-2016), and Netflix Comedy Lineup (2018).
