Theatre
In 2008 Brightman began working as an ensemble member and understudy in Broadway’s Glory Days. But the play closed after only one performance and he never got to perform in the show. Since then he has portrayed character(s) in Broadway productions of Wicked (2008-2010), Big Fish (2013), Matilda the Musical (2014-2015), School of Rock (2015-2016), and Beetlejuice (2018-2020).
He also played Giuseppe Zangara in the 2017 off-Broadway show Assassins.

Brightman made his screen debut in 2009, his appearance being in the 2009 episodes of Important Things with Demetri Martin. This was followed by roles in the TV series Royal Pains (2011), Impractical Jokers (2016), The Good Fight (2018), Teen Titans Go! (2020), Helluva Boss (2020), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2021), DeadEndia (2021), etc.
Moreover, Alex Brightman has been credited in the films Red Hook (2009), Here Today (2021), and Belushi.
