While a senior at Bucknell University, Nyambi took up acting. In addition to NYU, he also studied at  Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City.

Nyambi Nyambi’s debut role was in the 2006 film Day Night Day Night as the Organizer. This was followed by appearances in the TV series Law & Order (2010), the film Saint Janet (2014), and the short film Translucent (2009). His breakthrough came as he was cast as Samuel in the TV series Mike & Molly (2010-2016).
