Amy Madigan is an actress, singer, and producer by profession, and American by nationality. She is well known for starring in Twice in a Lifetime, Field of Dreams, Gone Baby Gone, and Roe vs. Wade.

Amy Madigan’s birth took place on September 11, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She was born Amy Marie Madigan to her father John J. Madigan, a famous journalist, and her mother Dolores Madigan, an administrative assistant, and amateur actress. Her parents raised her alongside her siblings, brothers Jack Madigan and Jim Madigan.

Amy Madigan was educated at the Aquinas Dominican High School. Following high school graduation, she went to Marquette University where she earned a degree in philosophy. Before fame
Before Madigan began her career as an actress, she had pursued a career as a musician. She was in the lead vocals with the band Jelly. With the band, she released an album A True Story in 1997 and also posed nude in the June 1978 issue of Playboy to promote her band.
Having toured across the US in collaboration with different bands in the 1970s, Amy Madigan transitioned to acting. Her first TV role was in a 1981 episode of Hart to Hart as Adele. This was followed by guest appearances in the TV series CHiPs (1981), Eureka Stockade (1984), Crocodile Shoes (1994), etc.
