Early Days
Ben Shenkman began his professional career as an actor in the 1994 film Quiz Show. This was followed by roles in the films Camp Stories (1997), 30 Days (1999), Requiem for a Dream (2000), Chasing Sleep (2000), etc. Meanwhile, he also had guest appearances in the TV series Law & Order (1993; 1999), and New York Undercover (1996).
Finally, in 2003, he was cast as Louis Ironson / The Angel Oceania in the miniseries Angels in America. This is his breakthrough role.

Over the years Shenkman has appeared in the films Must Love Dogs (2005), Breakfast with Scot (2007), Blue Valentine (2010), The Key Man (2011), Concussion (2013), The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020), among others. He has also portrayed characters in the TV series Canterbury's Law (2008), Burn Notice (2009), Grey's Anatomy (2009), Damages (2010), Billions (2016-2020), For the People (2018-2019), Curb Your Enthusiasm (2020).
But most of all Shenkman is known for playing the recurring character Dr. Jeremiah Sacani in the comedy-drama Royal Pains from 2012 to 2016.
