Who is Catelynn Lowell?

Catelynn Lowell is a reality TV star. She rose to fame in her teens when she was cast in the reality TV show MTV's 16 & Pregnant little after she gave birth to her first child with boyfriend (now husband) Tyler Baltierra.

Catelynn Lowell – Age, Parents, Siblings

Catelynn Lowell was born on March 12, 1992, in Port Huron, Michigan, United States. Her father’s name is David Lowell and her mother’s name is April Brockmiller. She has two half-brothers named River Lowell, and Nicholas Lowell, and one sister, Sarah Lowell. She also has a step-sister named Amber.

Growing up, Catelynn Lowell moved with her family at least 20 times. The family moved from cities to suburbs to small towns and finally to Ohio. Once again, she had to move in with her grandparents in Florida. Her parents also divorced when she was young.

She graduated from high school in 2011 and enrolled at Baker College to major in social work. Her ethnicity is Caucasian.

Catelynn Lowell – Boyfriend, Husband, Children, Divorce, Affair

Catelynn Lowell started dating Tyler Baltierra while they were in seventh grade and the year was 2005. Baltierra’s father Butch, who had been in and out of prison, and Lowell’s mother April met through the children and also married. 

Their parent’s marriages made them step-brothers and step-sisters. At that time Tyler lived with his mother.

When Lowell and Baltierra started dating, they were only 15 years old. Soon, the young couple found out that Lowell was pregnant! And she was only 16! Facing problems as a young to-be parent, the decision was made to put the baby into adoption as they were not stable enough to raise a child.

Their first child together, a daughter was born on 18 May 2009. A loving couple Brandon and Teresa Davis adopted the baby and named her Carolyn Elizabeth (Carly). The adoption was set to be an ‘open’ one. It means that Lowell and Baltierra will be able to see their daughter once a year and also regularly receive pictures.

Catelynn Lowell’s second child with Baltierra was born on 1^st January 2015 and they named their daughter NovaLee Reign. In July 2013, Baltierra proposed to Lowell and got engaged. The wedding was postponed and the couple finally married on August 22, 2015.

In February 2018, Catelynn Lowell shared that she had suffered a miscarriage. After getting suffering from depression and suicidal thoughts, Lowell sook help and her husband was right there to support her.

Catelynn Lowell and her husband were happy to announce in September 2018 that they were expecting a child together, also a daughter. The baby was revealed to be due in March 2019. On Feb 21, 2019, their daughter Vaeda Luma was born. 

Their fourth child- a baby girl named Rya Rose Baltierra was born on August 28, 2021.

Lowell and Baltierra have been through a lot in their lives. Facing these problems has made their love stronger. But sometimes it just would not be enough. There were rumors circulating that they would soon get a divorce. In November 2018, the pair announced that they were living temporarily apart but will not be divorcing. 

There were also rumors that Baltierra has cheated on Lowell before and after getting married. These affair rumors were addressed by both of them on social media but in a rather humorous way!

Catelynn Lowell – Career

While Lowell was pregnant with her first daughter, in 2009, the couple first joined MTV's 16 & Pregnant. By then they had already made the decision to place the baby for adoption. After the series ended, Baltierra and Lowell were back in the new spin-off series Teen Mom. It also starred Amber Portwood, Maci Bookout, and Farrah Abraham.

Catelynn Lowell and Baltierra then went on to star in the reality show Teen Mom 2, Couples Therapy (2014), Teen Mom OG, Reunited (December 2016), etc.

Along with her husband, she has co-written a book titled Conquering Chaos. They also have launched a children’s clothing line called Tierra Reign.
