Chip Gaines is a reality TV star, a Realtor by profession, and an American by nationality. He and his wife Joanna Gaines hosted HGTV’s Fixer Upper and are the owners of Magnolia Homes, Magnolia Table, and Magnolia Market.

Chip Gaines’ birth took place on November 14, 1974, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. He was born Chip Carter Gaines to his father Bob Gaines and his mother Gayle Gaines. He is not the only child of his parents and has a sibling, a sister named Shannon Gaines.

Growing up in Colleyville, Chip Gaines was educated at Grapevine High School, where he also played baseball. After graduation, he went on to study at Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business in Waco, Texas. He graduated from the same in 1998 with a marketing degree.

Chip Gaines – Girlfriend, Wife, Children, Divorce
Chip Gaines met his future wife Joanna Gaines when they were in their 20s. Although both had attended the same university, they had never met each other. Instead, he had seen a picture of Joanna in her father’s tire store and had been visiting the store to talk to her.
Soon enough they started dating. He married his longtime girlfriend on 31 May 2003. With his wife, he has five children- sons Drake Gaines (born 2005), Duke Gaines (born 2008), Crew Gaines (born June 2018), and daughters Ella Rose Gaines (born 2006), Emmie Kay Gaines (born 2010).
Currently, they are living without rumors of extra-marital affairs and divorce.
Chip Gaines – Controversy
In 2016 Chip Gaines and his family were criticized for their association with Antioch Community Church. The church’s pastor Jimmy Seibert is known to oppose homosexuality and gay marriage and promotes conversion therapy.

Chip Gaines – Career
Early Days
Following graduation from college, Chip Gaines started several small successful businesses including Green and Gold Wash and Fold. He had been flipping investment properties well before he started dating Joanna.
Later on, with his wife, he worked with clients on buying and remodeling homes. She covered the interior designs and colors while he did construction work. When they were contacted by HGTV, they had worked on over 100 homes.
After Leanne Ford declined to host the HGTV show Fixer Upper, the opportunity was passed on to Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines. Season 1 of the show first aired on May 23, 2013. They also went on to star in the spin-off series Fixer Upper: Behind the Design, which premiered on April 10, 2018.
Magnolia
The couple also has a construction/design company named Magnolia Homes, a restaurant Magnolia Table, and a discount store Magnolia Market. Moreover, they have published three books The Magnolia Story (2016), Homebody: A Guide to Creating Spaces You Never Want to Leave (2018), and Magnolia Table: A Collection of Recipes for Gathering (2018).
