Who is Chow Yun-fat?
Chow Yun-fat is a Hong Kong actor who has been awarded SBS (Silver Bauhinia Star) by Hong Kong for his leading role and voluntary work in public affairs. He is best known for his roles in Chinese and Hollywood movies such as A Better Tomorrow, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Killer, Hard-Boiled, and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.

Chow Yun-fat – Age, Parents, Siblings
Chow Yun-fat whose birth name is Yun-fat Chow (previous name Donald Chow) was born on 18 May 1955 in Lamma Island, Hong Kong, China. He has several fond nicknames too- Faat Tsai, Faat " Gor", Donald Chow.
Chow’s father Rongyun Zhou worked on a Shell Oil Company tanker and his mother Lifang Chen worked as a cleaning lady and a vegetable farmer. He has four brothers and several sisters. He also has an elder sister who is a photographer.
Chow had a difficult childhood as the family faced financial hindrances. He grew up on Lamma Island where the farming community lived. His house had no electricity and he used to wake up early morning to help his mother in the fields and sell goods.

At the age of 17, he left school to help his family earn money by working several odd jobs. Years later Chow saw an advertisement on TVB for actors.
His ethnicity is Chinese.

Chow was in a relationship with Hong Kong actress Idy Chan in 1978. But after they broke up in 1989, heartbroken Chow attempted suicide.
Chow has been married twice and divorced once. His first wife is Candice Yu, a Hong Kong actress and singer. They married in the year 1983. But their marriage did not last even a year. It just lasted 9 months. They divorced the same year in 1983.
Chow then married Jasmine Tan, a Singaporean, on 6th May 1986 and has been married ever since. The couple does not have any children together. Instead, Chow has a goddaughter Celine Ng, a former child model.

Early Days
He signed up for it and was accepted by TVB where he signed a 3-year contract for film acting. Chow worked with TVB and soon was the heartthrob and a familiar name.
Films, Series
He has appeared in around 100 movies, both Chinese and Hollywood movies. Among all, his most recognized movies include The Hunter, the Butterfly and the Crocodile (1976), See-Bar (1980), Postman Strikes Back (1982), and The Killer (1989).
Others are Hard Boiled (1992), Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007), Dragonball Evolution (2009), The Monkey King (2014), and From Vegas to Macau parts- I, II, III (2014, 2015, 2016).
Chow also played in around 37 series from the years 1974 to 1987.
Photo Collection
He released his first photo collection on 26 June 2008 in Hong Kong. The book’s photos were taken on the sets of his film and were published by Louis Vuitton. The earnings from the book were donated to Sichuan earthquake victims.
