Who is Chris Fischer?
Chris Fischer is an American chef, farmer, teacher, and author. His cookbook The Beetlebung Farm Cookbook: A Year of Cooking on Martha's Vineyard has gained him international recognition.

Chris Fischer’s birth took place on August 19, 1980, in Chilmark, Massachusetts, USA. His father Albert Fischer III worked as a commercial fisherman while his late mother’s name is not known but she used to work as an artist and a public school teacher. He has a sibling too, a sister named Molly Fischer who works as the assistant of Amy Schumer.
Fischer is a 12th-generation Islander and grew up on a 5.7-acre farm, that his grandfather bought. Raised mostly by his grandfather, Albert Oswald Fischer Jr., he had the opportunity to connect with diverse food and nature from childhood.

Chris Fischer was in a relationship with Krishana Collins, a flower studio owner in Martha’s Vineyard. The couple had even moved in together. But their relationship hit the rocks and the two broke up.
He went on to find love with American actress and comedian Amy Schumer. They had met through common friends. Both Chris Fischer and Amy Schumer had kept their relationship private and only gave a public announcement in November 2017 after being spotted together in February 2017.
Schumer had posted on her official Instagram page sharing an intimate kiss. Only months after the shocking announcement, they married on February 13, 2018, in Malibu. The star-studded guest list included Jennifer Lawrence, Larry David, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Jennifer Aniston.
In November of 2018, the couple announced that they were pregnant and will be giving birth to their first child in 2019. The couple welcomed their son in May 2019.

Chris Fischer – Career
Before fame
Chris Fischer began working as a farmer with family members on the Beetlebung Farm. As his father worked as a commercial fisherman, it was he who taught Fischer how to fish and farm.
Worked in
While in his twenties, Fischer worked as a sous chef at Mario Batali's restaurant Babbo. He had actually met Batali through actor Jake Gyllenhaal. He has also been the chef of other restaurants like The River Café, St John Bread and Wine, and Alice Waters’ Sustainable Food Project.

In a 2016 interview with BU Today, he said, “I have a nontraditional approach to work. I jumped into the chef world, but without a chefly background and was so focused for the first two and a half years that I taught myself to run Babbo’s three-star kitchen when I was 25.”
Chris Fischer then returned to Martha’s Vineyard to cook privately. He landed the opportunity to work at Beach Plum Inn & Restaurant as the executive chef. At the Beach Plum, for his work as Chef, he was awarded the Coastal New England Rising Star Award and even had the opportunity to serve Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.

In 2015, along with Catherine Young, chef Fischer published the book The Beetlebung Farm Cookbook: A Year of Cooking on Martha’s Vineyard. The book earned him the prestigious James Beard Award.
Chris Fischer now runs the family farm, Beetlebung Farm while also working as the executive chef at Beach Plum Inn & Restaurant, and an instructor in MET’s Programs in Food & Wine.

Chris Fischer – Autism spectrum diagnosis
On March 18, 2019, wife Amy Schumer revealed Fischer's recent diagnosis of autism spectrum on the Netflix special Growing. She said,
"I knew from the beginning that my husband's brain was a little different than mine. My husband was diagnosed with what used to be called Asperger's. He has autism spectrum disorder. He's on the spectrum.
"And once he was diagnosed, it dawned on me how funny it was, because all of the characteristics that make it clear that he's on the spectrum are all of the reasons that I fell madly in love with him. That's the truth."
