Who is Conleth Hill?

Conleth Hill is an actor by profession and Northern Irish by nationality. He has worked as an actor for more than three decades, among which he is best known as Lord Varys in the HBO series Game of Thrones.

Conleth Hill – Age, Parents, Siblings

Conleth Hill’s birth took place on 24 November 1964 in Ballycastle, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. He was born as Conleth Seamus Eoin Croiston Hill to his father Patsy Hill while his mother's name is not known.

He is not the only child of his parents and has three siblings, an older brother, a younger sister, and a younger brother named Ronan Hill.

His older brother is now a cameraman, his sister is a producer while his younger brother, Ronan Hill now works as a sound engineer and has won four Emmy Awards for his sound mixing on Game of Thrones.

Education, Ethnicity

For education, Conleth Hill attended St MacNissi's College and later studied acting at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, graduating in 1988. His ethnicity is Irish.

Hill began his professional career in 1988. His Broadway debut was in Stones in His Pockets. He also has portrayed characters in TV series including Boon (1988), Casualty (1988-1996), Blue Heaven (1992-1994), and The Life and Times of Vivienne Vyle (2007).

In films, he appeared in Whatever Works (2009), Perrier's Bounty (2009), and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (2011), among others.

In 2011, Conleth Hill landed his breakthrough role in Game of Thrones as Lord Varys. He has portrayed the character from the first season to the final season. For the role, he even shaved his head.

Since 2011, he has had roles in the TV series Suits (2013), Arthur & George (2015), Peter Kay's Car Share (2017), and 12 Monkeys (2018), to name a few.

In movies, Conleth Hill has had minor roles in Whole Lotta Sole (2012), Serena (2014), Official Secrets (2019), Here Are the Young Men, etc. He has also been active in radio programs since 2000. But most of all, Hill has acted in stage productions.
